I believe banning books is a violation of our Constitutional right to free speech and to access the truth. It prohibits a person from sharing his/her truth and hinders others in searching for the truth as conveyed in shared personal stories. Banning books is an effort to diminish and alter the truth and the worth of persons. Every Person, every People, Race, Sexual Orientation, Gender has a right to share their truth, their stories. If you feel a book should be banned, because it makes you feel uncomfortable, then simply put, don’t read it. But don’t take away a person’s right to share their truth and hinder those seeking the truth.
